Boston Celtics and Indiana Pacers: Injury Report Announced

Injury Reports for Eastern Conference Finals Game 1

Pacers Without Mathurin

The Indiana Pacers will be without Bennedict Mathurin for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Boston Celtics. Mathurin is dealing with a foot injury and will be re-evaluated for Game 2.

Celtics Injury Report

The Celtics injury report is relatively clean. Al Horford is listed as questionable with a knee injury but is expected to play. Robert Williams III is out with a meniscus injury.

Injury Impact on Game 1

The injuries did not seem to impact the outcome of Game 1 as the Celtics defeated the Pacers 133-128 in overtime. Jason Tatum led the way for the Celtics with 35 points and 10 rebounds.

Game Summary

The Celtics took control of the game in the second quarter, outscoring the Pacers 35-19. They led by as many as 25 points in the second half but the Pacers fought back to cut the lead to 109-108 with 3:02 remaining in the game. The Pacers had the opportunity to win the game in regulation but Tyrese Haliburton missed a shot with eight seconds remaining. The game went into overtime and the Celtics ultimately pulled out the victory. The Celtics will look to take a 2-0 lead in the series when Game 2 is played on Sunday. The Pacers will need to find a way to stop Tatum and Horford and get more production from their bench if they want to avoid falling behind 2-0.
